Electric moon

The Electric Moon Guitar is truly a one of a kind instrument. The only one in the world in fact. I designed this solid body electric guitar with a single coil pickup, and modelled off the Traditional Chinese instrument 'Zhongruan' it is tuned in 5ths (G, D,A,E).

I was drawn to this instrument since I play violin, and this is the same tuning except an octave lower, so it was very accessible for me (much more so than guitar!)

The Electric moon was built by Aaron O'Neil in the Blue mountains/ NSW, Australia during 2020-2022.

I have sampled every note via a DI into the Universal Audio Apollo Twin, processed through Arturia's 636 Spring verb, and Aberrant Sketch Casette for some subtle tape flutter and colour.

Additional samples have been added for the sound-design and variety of presets, some Analogue synth tones off the prophet 5 recorded to tape, some vinyl crackle textures, and some field recordings of birds in the Aussie bush.

I have included a bunch of presets with Ableton stock plugins etc for ease of use. Enjoy!
